Sue Peden became Acting CEO of Carers Victoria in October 2020 after stepping down from her role as Carers Victoria Board Chair. Sue joined Carers Victoria’s board in 2013, after caring for two of her four children who were born with a rare, life-shortening, genetic disorder and personally experienced the issues faced by carers.

Working in advertising for more than 30 years, including establishing her own agency which was sold five years later, Sue’s professional focus is business and brand strategy, consumer insight and stakeholder management. Her current business, Sue Peden Communication Consulting, works with large multi-nations through to start-ups.

Sue was elected Carers Victoria’s Board President in February 2017. She has been on the Business Development and Governance committees, chairs the Remuneration and Nominations Committee, has been part of various working groups and sits on the board of Carers Australia.

Sue has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne, is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and was recently awarded the Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for Significant Service to Community.
